I regularly photograph professional children’s headshots in and around the Haywards Heath area. Billy’s headshots needed updating – he’s grown up so much since I photographed him last year. Billy is a great dancer and a fantastic young actor too. At the time of this shoot we were still under Covid-19 lockdown although restrictions were just beginning to be lifted. The first set of pictures with the green background were taken on the driveway. We took a kitchen chair outside for Billy to lean on – I always find a prop of kind makes anyone (children or adult) feel more comfortable. I used my long lens for the whole shoot (Nikon 70-200mm for the photographers out there!) which enabled me to easily keep my social distance.
The second set of pictures were taken with Billy leaning against the Summer House in the garden. Mum held a reflector for me and again, it was easy to keep a social distance. I took a varied set of images giving the family a wide choice of poses and expressions.
