As an Ardingly Photographer, I adore photographing families in and around the beautiful village where I’m lucky enough to live! I have lived in Ardingly, West Sussex for over 15 years and thought I’d put a selection of my favourite pictures from my Family Photoshoots in Ardingly together – enjoy!
I regularly walk my dog in the meadows behind my house where these pictures were taken. I love the ways the views and colours change over the seasons. This photo shoot was in mid-July.
We started the shoot in the late afternoon to make the most of the golden hour light. Golden hour is the last hour before sunset and the first hour after sunrise and a perfect time for family pictures. Obviously, it’s not ideal if you have younger children – if that’s the case I suggest you start your photoshoot earlier in the morning. You can really see the light change to soft, golden light in the photos below:
A well-timed hot air balloon appeared whilst I was taking this photo!
As a side note, here’s a mock-up of the frame the family ordered from the shoot above.
Another golden hour image during a family photoshoot on the other side of Ardingly – I love the buttercups in the warm summer light.
Another family photoshoot back in the first meadow – again in the late afternoon summer sun. Their clothing choices look especially good against the soft grass.
And last, but certainly not least. Two sisters having fun running through the long grass during their family photoshoot.
