I’ve lost count of the amount of Mums that book their families in for a family photo shoot and ask not to be included or ask me to just take pictures just of their children.  If I’m honest, it makes me a little sad.  I totally get it, I’m not a huge fan of having my picture taken either (I’m working on it!) –  but I do think it’s so important that we are visible in our family photos.  For this reason, I’m sharing some of my favourite ‘mum’ pictures and four good reasons why us Mums should get in their family photos . . .

1. Do it for your children

You children want to see photos of you, they also want to see photos of themselves with you.  Your children think you are the most beautiful Mum in the world and love you unconditionally.  They love looking back at photos of you both!

2.  You don’t have to print them huge!

Honestly I’m not talking about printing billboard sized pictures or pushing you into having the hugest frame in your house.  If you are not happy about displaying pictures of yourself on your walls just order a few regular sized prints and tuck them away safely in a drawer.  I promise you, one day you’ll rediscover them and be very happy you did so!

3.  Life doesn’t stand still

Before you know it they’ll be taller than you,  flying the nest and doing their own thing.  Now is the best time to capture those images and preserve those memories forever!

4.  One day your pictures will become your children’s most treasured possession

It’s hard to touch on the enevitable but one day these images will become one of the most important posessions in your family.  I certainly get huge pleasure from looking back on my family pictures – let’s give our future generations something to look back on too.
